GOCA’s Bag of Hope Worth More Than Oscars Bag

It was just released that the Oscars Gift Bag is worth $232,000. Directors and Actors (25) who received nominations receive this over the top gift bag. The List of Sponsors is long!

On the other hand you have the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance who provide the Bag Of Hope to newly diagnosed ovarian cancer patients in Georgia. They have an annual gala “Shaken, Not Stirred Gala”  and we also have amazing sponsors!

6th Annual Shaken, Not Stirred Gala

Proceeds benefit the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance Education & Awareness and Community Outreach Programs.

Make your travel plans to join us for a First Class evening of dining, dancing, honoring, celebrating, and more!

The Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance Bag of Hope is one of GOCA’s premiere community outreach programs. It was designed by, and is continually reviewed by ovarian cancer patients and healthcare professionals to ensure the bag contents meet the needs of the ovarian cancer patient.
The Bag of Hope is given to newly-diagnosed ovarian cancer patients, to let them know they are not alone on their journey. GOCA created this program in response to needs expressed by women diagnosed with gynecological cancer to have readily available, reliable information on cancer resources, treatment and support while providing comfort and hope.

Recipients receive a compilation of helpful cancer resources such as information on chemotherapy side effects, talking to your family and where to go for non-medical support. In addition to knowledge, the Bag of Hope also prepares cancer patients for the rigors of chemotherapy with information of possible side effects and how to strategically combat them.

Newly diagnosed women are provided with gifts to encourage comfort and a positive attitude towards fighting cancer that include:

Monogrammed Bag

GOCA hat

Handmade knit cap

Lightweight fleece blanket

Pair of GOCA teal booties

Writing journal and pen

GOCA water bottle

GOCA Hot/Cold Pack

Survivor DVD

Information sheets/CD

Cancer Survival Toolbox

It is with great excitement that planning has begun for the 6th Annual Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance’s (GOCA) 2016 Shaken, Not Stirred Gala being held again at the Delta Flight Museum on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (VIP Reception hosted by Kroger, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.). We are delighted that Tammy Lucia is the Chair for the event again this year. The gala is a major fundraising opportunity for GOCA, with funds raised from the event benefitting GOCA’s statewide patient and community educational & awareness outreach.

The Shaken, Not Stirred Gala is one of premier ovarian cancer awareness events in the country. We are asking business leaders such as yourself to join us for an entertaining and uplifting evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing, casino games, tributes, and a live & silent auction.

The Renaissance Concourse Hotel, 1 Hartsfield Center Pkwy, Atlanta, GA, located three minutes from the venue will be our host hotel. To make reservations please call 404.209.9999 and reference the Shaken, Not Stirred Gala or visit http://bit.ly/1IH1ypZ by Friday, February 19, 2016 to receive the $110.00 (plus tax and fees) a night Shaken, Not Stirred Gala rate which includes self-parking and shuttle transportation to and from the event.

Whether new to GOCA or a proud returning sponsor, your leadership and support helps GOCA be recognized as a nationwide leader in ovarian cancer education & awareness as well as patient and community outreach. GOCA is committed to increasing ovarian cancer awareness and educating Georgia’s women of all ages and their families, as well as the healthcare community, about the risks and symptoms that may lead to earlier detection and treatment. You can help us make a difference with your individual or corporate sponsorship!

Included is a list of sponsorship opportunities for your consideration.

Should you have any questions, please contact Doug Barron at 404.255.1337 or ShakenNotStirredGala@GAOvarianCancer.org.
